Simply the "Love of Racing"
Excerpt from www.dragaction.com Vince Porcelli, of Michigan, is not new to the Drag Strip, nor to Racing itself. Vince says he found his Love for Racing while he was stationed in Italy, where he raced an Alfa Romeo on road courses. It was there that, according to Vince, he knew Racing was in his blood to stay. It wasn't until 1988, when Vince purchased a 1965 Ford Falcon, that he returned to racing. For Vince, getting back on the track wasn't about the winning or the recognition, it was about climbing behind that wheel and going as FAST as he could without any fancy enhancements to the car; just a small block Ford motor to propel this Ford Falcon down the strip. But, Vince wasn't achieving the speed he wanted, so, in 1994, Vince met the engine builder that would transform this 14 second at 100 mph Ford Falcon into the 8.62 sec. at 157 mph tire ripping, wheel standing, pavement eater, of today.
