The 2003 season has really been a fantastic time for the Vince Porcelli Racing team. It seems like not a week goes by without something special happening either at the track or with one of our sponsors at a special event.
Coming up in August the car will be on display at the FME club annual picnic in Hines Park on the 14th. That just happens to be Vince’s birthday and he will be hitting the big 55. Also in August we will be racing at the DANA Picnic at Mid Michigan Motorplex in Stanton, Mi. That event will be on Saturday, Aug. 16 from 8:00 am to noon.
The team has been very fortunate this season and has already been in the quarter finals 3 times, in the semi’s 3 times, runner up 2 times and winner this past weekend. The word fortunate was appropriate this weekend because we fought with an electrical problem the entire day. The car ran great when it ran and it ran when it had to, the driver did his job and the pit crew did theirs.
We would like to welcome a new sponsor, Choice Promotions. Choice was at the track Sunday and watched the car for awhile and committed to sponsorship. This company is one of the few that stands out in a crowd. They not only have a fantastic reputation but their people are the kind you want to be associated with. Here are some pictures taken at a recent Brown Elementary School presentation we attended with the FME Club. The intention and the message to the children were to make sure they understand that reading, comprehension and application of what you learn in of such great importance. We communicated to about 300 children in two different groups and were very well received. The children were given hats by Aztec Mfg Corporation’s CEO Frank Lopez to show our appreciation for their attention during the presentation.
