After our 1st full month of racing, April 18th thru May 18th, we are proud to say that everything is going better than planned. We have logged 50 passes down the quarter mile with an average time of 9.09 seconds at about 149 mph. We’ve had no breakage and everything seems to be in fantastic condition.
The motor this year teamed with the powerglide transmission has taken a lot of the violence out of the launch which equates to more consistency through the entire ¼ mile. Our reaction times have been very consistent also.
Most of all the appreciation by the fans and other racers for the performance has been overwhelming. There aren’t too many small block fords running low 9’s and high 8’s on motor without zinging them or spraying nitrous or some other power adder. The car never seems to miss a beat. We have been down to the ¼ finals 3 times already this season and haven’t spent anytime tuning the car to run better.
We have been invited to the Eaton Race Day at Milan and also to the Visteon Race Day and will attend both. Dana also has a race but the date isn’t secured yet. More on the schedule when it becomes available.
